We tested 30 different types of containers from collapsible silicon to multi-tiered ones. Sometimes our meals exploded in the car when containers collapsed unexpectedly. Sometimes they opened up and spilled in our satchels. Finding the perfect tiffin sets was one of our hardest jobs.
Why we love these tiffins:
they close and seal well, although these are not leakproof.
they are deceptively large with great capacity considering how compact they are.
they nest one inside the other to to create the most space saving solutions.
the quality of the stainless steel is excellent
the plastic lid has a very long lifespan and is recyclable
they do very well in the dishwasher.
The tare (the weight of the container) is printed on the bottom! We love this so much. It allows you to fill your container with soup, salad, olives, ice cream, frozen yogurt, peanut butter, oil, frozen yogurt, or items at a hot foods bar and go straight to check out line without hassle about the weight of your container from the cashier.
the variety of sizes is great for separating leftovers at a restaurant without tons of throw away containers.
these work great for packing lunches, snacks and picnics.
they are awesome for transporting bulk foods at the grocery store too.
BPA-free, phthalate-free and lead-free, of course. We don't love plastic either, but this does not come in contact with your food, is not reheated with food in a microwave, and generally meets a high sustainability, durability and recyclability threshold.
The maker of these tiffins is B-Corp certified, meaning the supply chain meets a high standard for social and environmental sustainability.
